My Story...
My life has been filled with trials, triumphs, and the unwavering pursuit of my dreams.
I was born in 1976, the 200 year centennial of the United States, in Cincinnati, Ohio. I entered the world as an only child, destined for a remarkable path. At the tender age of two, my family packed their bags and moved to the bustling heart of Manhattan. Little did I know that I would grow up in what would later become the famed Tribeca, home to some of New York City’s most luxurious and sought after real estate.
My upbringing was marked by the influence of my family and friends, a tight knit group of entrepreneurs who ran small businesses, oversaw factories, and had a significant impact on their employees, and on the community at large. Their care and compassion for others, combined with an iron clad work ethic left an indelible imprint on me, shaping my values and ambitions.
As I entered my teenage years, I found myself navigating the streets of the lower west side, seeking my own path, and searching for a sense of belonging. It was during this tumultuous time that I met Margarita, a captivating 15-year-old girl. Our connection was immediate, and we embarked on a journey together. Life had a surprise in store for us, as Margarita became pregnant at just 16 years old.
Determined to build a family despite our lack of financial independence, emotional maturity, and formal education, we married with our parents' permission in 1994, just two months before the birth of our first son, Christopher Olverson, who arrived in November of that year.
With the weight of familial responsibility on my shoulders and a wife and son to support, I decided to pursue a career in the military. The disciplined and structured lifestyle it offered appealed to me greatly. Over the course of more than 25 years of military service, I had the privilege of serving all over the United States and in various countries, including Bosnia, Croatia, Japan, Alaska, Hawaii, Germany, Iraq, and Afghanistan. I played a part in numerous humanitarian, NATO, and combat operations, including Operations Joint Guard, Joint Endeavor, Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, Implementation Force Bosnia (IFOR), Stabilization Force Bosnia (SFOR), and disaster relief missions like Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita.
Throughout these impactful years, Margarita and I welcomed two more children into our lives, David and Aden Olverson. The journey was challenging, but our commitment to each other and to our family remained unwavering and steadfast.
After nearly three decades of military service, I faced the daunting task of transitioning to civilian life. The void left by the absence of the military's purpose, direction, and camaraderie weighed heavily on me. I wanted to add value to people’s lives, and I looked for viable careers and actionable answers. It was during this time of deep introspection that I discovered my passion for real estate.
I dove headfirst into the world of real estate, dedicating my soul, time, and heart to gaining as much knowledge and expertise as possible. In 2018, I became a realtor with Keller Williams, and in 2020, I partnered with Jason Johnson to become an investor. By 2023, I had successfully flipped nearly 100 houses, assisted countless clients and agents in buying and selling over 100 homes, acquired more than 20 investment properties, and established my own real estate company, as well as a wholesaler business and a construction company, among other ventures.
About Wealth Builder, and how it came to fruition:
My intensive training and sharply honed leadership skills, gained through my decades of military service, has allowed me to influence and lead both myself and my organizations to achieve massive growth. Amid this success, I noticed a demand for my insights in real estate investing, and people began to ask me to mentor them. This led to the creation of Wealth Builders, an online platform where I guide individuals and families on their real estate journey, helping them to achieve financial freedom. I have created a series of classes and programs that meet people where they are, from newbie to seasoned pro.
I also began to see that although financial freedom and monetary wealth is the cornerstone of a happy life, it isn’t enough. In my years of working with traditionally “wealthy” people, I noticed that people may have great material wealth, but at their core, they may be emotionally, physically, or even spiritually bankrupt. This led me to discover that there are actually seven types of wealth. These layers can have a profound impact on people, and if not addressed, they can block us from realizing our true potential.
The concept of the seven levels of wealth is a framework that goes far beyond traditional financial measures and includes various aspects of life that contribute to a person's overall well-being, and lasting happiness. These seven levels encompass different dimensions of wealth and well-being, and can significantly impact both family life and real estate investments.
Here's an explanation of each level and how they affect every aspect of our life, from relationships to real estate investments:
1. Financial Wealth:
- Financial wealth is the most tangible and commonly recognized form of wealth. It includes assets, investments, savings, and income.
- In real estate, financial wealth is directly related to property values, rental income, and investment returns. Financial wealth can greatly impact our personal life, and affects us by providing financial security and the means to achieve personal desires and goals, family responsibilities, and community enrichment. Money is a tool, and like a hammer, it can tear things apart or build immense achievements. Money magnifies personality.
2. Emotional Wealth:
- Emotional wealth refers to the quality of a person's emotional well-being, mental health, and overall sense of security and happiness.
- In real estate, having a beautiful and comfortable home can contribute immensely to our emotional wealth. A happy home and family life can positively affect real estate decisions by encouraging homeownership, instilling a sense of stewardship and pride, and creating a demand for family-friendly properties.
3. Relational Wealth:
- Relational wealth is built on the strength of personal relationships, social connections, and support networks.
- In real estate, our network is our net worth and having strong & solid connections can make or break deals, and smooth the way for easier flips and other investment ventures. Having a strong social network can lead to opportunities for joint investments, referrals, and future deals down the line. Family connections can also influence property decisions, such as buying a home close to relatives or living near good schools for children.
4. Physical Wealth:
- Physical wealth relates to good health, fitness, and overall physical well-being.
- In real estate, physical wealth can affect property choices. Access to recreational areas, fitness facilities, and a healthy environment can be attractive features for families. Physical health is perhaps the ultimate wealth, and can greatly influence investment decisions and impact the kind of property we choose to work with. By preserving physical health, we preserve our truest wealth.
5. Intellectual Wealth:
- Intellectual wealth encompasses knowledge, education, skills, and personal growth.
- In real estate, intellectual wealth can impact investment decisions and success. . Knowledge of real estate markets, financing options, and property management can lead to more informed choices and potentially higher returns.
- It is my greatest hope that as your coach, I can impact your intellectual wealth, helping you continue your education and return to the source. Real estate is an ever changing and always growing field. Keeping pace with these changes and paying attention to market trends will grow your intellectual wealth exponentially.
6. Spiritual Wealth:
- Spiritual wealth reflects a person's sense of purpose, values, and fulfillment in life.
- In real estate, spiritual wealth may influence choices regarding the type of properties a person invests in. Some may prioritize sustainable, environmentally friendly, or community-focused real estate projects that align with their values. Spiritual wealth = living honestly and staying true to your spirit. Ask yourself deep questions that ring true to your ideals. Does that mean a more humble or simple home? Do you want to help others through your investments? These things can all fall under the umbrella of spiritual wealth.
7. Legacy Wealth:
- Legacy wealth is about leaving a positive impact on future generations, whether through financial inheritance, knowledge, or values.
- In real estate, legacy wealth can involve passing down properties to family members, teaching them about real estate investments, or contributing to community development for the benefit of future generations. Legacy wealth is wealth that lives on, after you are gone, and assures that your hard work benefits the people you love far into the future.
These seven levels of wealth are deeply interconnected and collectively contribute to a person's overall well-being and happiness. When it comes to family and real estate, understanding and balancing these dimensions can help individuals make more holistic and fulfilling decisions. For example, real estate investments can be chosen not only for their financial potential but also for their alignment with family goals, emotional well-being, and personal values, leading to a more balanced and purpose-driven approach to real estate ownership and investment.
It is through these seven levels of wealth and my eternal quest for education, fulfillment, and yes, “wealth” as it is described above, that I have gotten to where I am now - standing before you (perhaps digitally), introducing you to Wealth Builders.
Now that you know me a little better, I hope that you will take my hand as we embark on this journey together - the journey towards your wealth and wellness.
In closing, I dedicate this biography to all those who have played a pivotal role in making my dreams come true—my loving family, my mentors, my partners, and all those who have supported me along the way. This is a testament to the power of determination, hard work, and the unwavering belief in the American dream. May my story inspire others to reach for their own dreams, no matter how impossible they may seem, and build wealth for themselves and their families.
