Three Simple Words: How Humility Fuels Achievement

Hello everyone, Dustin Olverson here, your Wealth Builder Coach, sharing some insights I've gleaned from my journey in the real estate and entrepreneurial world. Today, I want to talk about something incredibly powerful yet often overlooked: humility and the courage to utter three simple words, "Help me, please."

In our fast-paced world, where innovation seems to never take a breather, navigating the complex maze of business operations and startup ecosystems can feel overwhelming. As someone who has devoted years to studying this dynamic environment, I've spent countless hours unraveling the threads of success and failure. Through these experiences, I've discovered a startlingly simple yet profoundly impactful truth: the power of humility and the strength found in seeking help.

Often, we envision the entrepreneurial journey as a solitary path, driven by individual brilliance and unyielding resolve. However, when we delve deeper into the stories of those who have truly soared—those whose ventures have achieved remarkable sales and groundbreaking innovations—a common thread emerges. It's not just their inherent genius or unparalleled skills that set them apart. Instead, it's their willingness to seek guidance, their openness to ask for help, and, most importantly, their discernment in choosing whom to ask. The secret to their triumph lies in their engagement with mentors and peers who have already carved their paths to the heights they aspire to reach.

I must admit, for a long time, I wore my reluctance to seek help as a badge of honor. I equated it with independence and strength. This self-imposed stoicism, however, was an illusion—a barrier erected by my ego, hindering my progress and obscuring my potential. It wasn't until I confronted this reality that I began to see the transformative power of asking for and accepting help.

This revelation isn't unique to my journey. In my conversations with clients, employees, and leaders burdened by operational overload, a common refrain emerged: the belief that if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. This mindset often leads to a Sisyphean struggle, where the pursuit of perfection and control becomes a roadblock to growth and achievement.

If this narrative resonates with you, either personally or in someone you know, consider that this perspective might be the very obstacle standing in the way of reaching your fullest potential. Embracing the simple act of asking for help has been a game-changer for my team and me, propelling us forward in ways I once thought unattainable. It underscores a profound truth: organizational transformation begins with individual acceptance—acceptance of change, acceptance of help, and acceptance of one's role in a larger journey toward success.

So, let this be a gentle nudge to reassess the value of humility and the strength found in those three simple words. By doing so, you may discover that the key to unlocking your full potential and accelerating your journey toward success has been within reach all along.

Thank you for joining me on this reflection. Let's continue to grow and achieve together.

Warm regards,

Dustin Olverson
